About

My name is Evelyn Edwards Graham.  I am an ordained pastor in the Presbyterian Church USA.  I graduated from Rhodes College with a BA and Vanderbilt University Divinity School with a Masters in Divinity.  I am a native of Nashville, TN, but have also lived in the great cities of Memphis, Philadelphia, and Cincinnati.  I currently live in Nashville with my husband, two of my three children, and two large dogs.  I am also a sister to three brothers, an aunt to nine nieces and nephews, friend, and most importantly a child of God.  I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, writing, studying theology, listening to music, creating, gardening, composting, and eating dessert!

I have an intense love for a God that is at his/her core, a God of infinite love.  God does not discriminate.  God loves everyone!  Everyone!!!  God’s love is bigger than anything we could ever imagine and then some.  Despite our inability to fully love ourselves and others, I believe this love is evident by God’s sacrifice for us in the person of Jesus Christ.  In fact, the only way we can love is because we have first been loved by this amazing God.  Often caring for ourselves and others is how we show our love for God.  In fact, God expects us to carry the love given by God to others so that they can glimpse God’s presence in our world and follow God as well.

I don’t have to tell you that our world is broken.  It might surprise you that I believe God calls us to fix it.  God has given us the power and ability to work toward reconciliation and healing, if we would just believe we can do it and work together.  We must first stop blaming and start loving.

This blog is meant to encourage and challenge each of us to live more fully, love more graciously, and dare to be the people God has called us to be.  If you have thoughts, concerns, or comments about these posts, please reach out.  I would love to connect with you as I look forward to your encouragement in my own struggles.  By sharing my thoughts and my journey, I hope to hear your thoughts and learn about your journey.

While we may have different ideas about God, we can never limit God’s love and grace to fill our world and our hearts.  May we all share in this joyous journey in the community of that infinite love.

Grace and peace,

Evelyn
